#8 NaPoWriMo, April…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge was to write about flowers. When I first saw the prompt something inside of me died. I was like ugh… what a boring topic. How am I going to work with it… “Flowers are blue, roses are red. I am bored and so are you!” After thinking over it for some hours and reading poems/songs with flowers. I am pleased to say flowers don’t have to be boring. Enjoy!

April

The innocent wonderment
Of a young child.
The fresh scent of wild mint,
On a warm spring morn.

The dawn.
The dew.

The wind blowing softly
Through the baby’s breath.
The lullaby plays calmly
Over the mountain side.

The breeze.
The bees.

Flower crowns of sweet pea.
The giggling girls.
The honeysuckle by the sea.
The laughing brook.

The renewed.
The remembered.

The song birds sing
Their poetry.
The blue bells ring
Revival again.

The spring.
The season.

Oh Lord, fill our hearts
With your praise.
Marvelous are your arts
Displayed on earth today.

The living.
The lily.

All sing your praise.
For we have hope again,
In our uncertain days.

I hope you are all having a good day. I hope your spring is merry and bright!!! Keep smiling, awesome sauce!

Allie ❤

Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air’s salubrity: When the star canope shines in May, Shepherds are thankful and nations gay.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
