#30 NaPoWriMo, My Mom Is The Best…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to translate a poem into English or “translate” a poems looks into English sounds. I didn’t have enough time to do this prompt today but I will keep the idea tucked away. But here is my off prompt poem about my wonderful mother. Enjoy!

My Mom Is The Best

My mom is the best.
She takes care of us without rest.

She helps us with homework
And she laughs at our silly smirk.

She stays up late to cook our meal.
She shows us love and teaches us to feel,

With our hearts, souls and mind.
She is the greatest treasure to find.

My mother is great.
Even if she’s kinda late.

She makes us smile and laugh
And makes us take our bath.

My mom lets us get dirty and smelly.
She lets us have lots of fun!

But her twinkling eyes let me know
There will be a lesson before we’re done.

I love my mother
She truly is the best!!!

And I will shout it
From the roof tops lest

She forget how awesome she is
And thinks everything that isn’t ’tis.

I want the whole world to know
To my mother do I bestow

The greatest honors this world has to offer
My love, my time, my life to place in a coffer.

I will always fight on her side.
Together we have been tied.

My mother will always live in my heart
And we never ever shall be apart!!!

It’s the last day of NaPoWriMo. I hope you have enjoyed this month of poems and have had a wonderful day. Keep smiling, your smile lights up the world. [=

#29 NaPoWriMo, Do You Remember…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to write a poem inspired by things I remember. Enjoy!!!

Do You Remember

How things seemed so big when we were small.
Or the first time we ran into the freezers door and felt tall.

I remember the first time someone thought my sibling was my child.
And a friend my H U S B A N D…

Do you remember learning how to read?
I remember never taking heed.

How music made us feel something
And playing on the playground was everything.

Do you remember our wedding under the slide
Or how we used to seek and hide?

I remember the first goodbye
And holding it all together in a little sigh.

Do you remember the clouds on that day
Oh how your eyes begged me to stay.

Do you remember our childhood
Our secret club and brotherhood.

Am I the only one who can relive those moments
That have long been spent… and forgotten since.

Do you remember my name?
Or hair that couldn’t be tame?

Do you remember anything at all
Or is it all some dream I saw?

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Keep smiling beautiful!

#28 NaPoWriMo, The Rose…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to write a poetic story backwards. Enjoy!

The Rose

I stare at the rose
The scent tickles my nose
Securing all my hearts locks
I open the box
As I sit
I can feel it
Something changes on my face
The curious writing I can’t place
Sat by my door frame
A package in my name

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Keep smiling, it lights up the whole world. [=

#27 NaPoWriMo, I Just Don’t…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to write long lines (17 syllable) in a poem. Enjoy.

I Just Don’t

Tonight I just don’t feel like writing,
I picked up my pen, looked at the paper with dead eyes and realized,
I have nothing to say, not one thing.

I hope your day has been wonderful. Keep smiling, awesome sauce.

#26 NaPoWriMo, Something Like…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to write a call and response poem. Enjoy.

Something Like

When I was
A young working man, many years ago.
I find myself,
Working in a mining tunnel far below.

We would cheer
Ourselves and to let the others know
We were still
Alive, would sing amidst explosions glow.

We sing something like ho ho ho
We shout something like no no no
We drive something like go go go
We do something like mo mo mo
We work something like pro pro pro
We wake something like foe foe foe
We learn something like woe woe woe
We love something like yo yo yo

Together all us
Men would sing over the powder blow.
As long as
We could sing we knew we had air flow.

We sing something like ho ho ho
We shout something like no no no
We drive something like go go go
We do something like mo mo mo
We work something like pro pro pro
We wake something like foe foe foe
We learn something like woe woe woe
We love something like yo yo yo

That simple song
To this day haunts me although
It’s been years
Ago. It covers me like a dark shadow.

We sing something like ho ho ho
We shout something like no no no
We drive something like go go go
We do something like mo mo mo
We work something like pro pro pro
We wake something like foe foe foe
We learn something like woe woe woe
We love something like yo yo yo

Sing that song
Over my grave and under the willow.
Let it be
My parting words…

We sing something like ho ho ho
We shout something like no no no…

With that second verse his lips slow.
And I start to sing very low…

We drive something like go go go
We do something like mo mo mo
We work something like pro pro pro
We wake something like foe foe foe…

This is where his last breath was bestow.
And I know because he let go of my elbow.

We learn something like woe woe woe
We love something like yo yo yo…

The tears begin to outflow…
I feel run over by a buffalo.
I turn to the window
and I see a rainbow.
Welcoming the commando.

I will go,
like a pro
And conquer the foe
And face my woe.
I will not take but a mo
They can not tell me no
And I shall give a hearty shout HO!!!
I again shall greet you with a mighty YO!!!

Well that was an interesting story was it not! >_< hahaha. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Keep smiling, it's simple gorgeous. [=

Ps. Mo is defined as a short period of time. (E.I moment.) It's British or so says google. [=

#25 NaPoWri, The Road I’ve Taken…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to write a poem beginning with a line from another poem. If you haven’t already guessed by the title, I took my inspiration from Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken. Enjoy!!!

The Road I’ve Taken

“I took the one less traveled by”
I began walking with a little sigh,
Looking straight up the mountain side
From this climb I wanted to hide.

The comments of others pulled me down
Their words come like waves to drown
My quiet spirit encouraging myself in the Lord
Taking the shield of Faith with trusted Sword.

I looked not to the left nor to the right
I only looked to the greatest light.
He has always been my H O P E,
My vision is like a kaleidoscope.

The path I travel is my mission,
It is my goal, purpose and V I S I O N
To encourage the broken, to love the hated
To speak for the muted and stand with the berated.

This is my road, my path, my trail.
It’s something I shall not fail.
Everyday I shall move F O R W A R D
Baby step or leap, I’m moving onward.

I hope you are having an amazing day. Thank for stopping by. Keep smiling, gorgeous. Your smile is the best!!! ❤

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost (1874-1963)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Too roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

#24 NaPoWriMo, The Bad Day…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge was to write a mix-and-match poem, elaborate poetic words mixed with colloquial words. Enjoy!!!

The Bad Day

I.Our day is such a blunder
We feel torn asunder.
We desire our day to be exuberant
But it has become malignant.
Alas, now I only wish enduring
Forbearance until we are sleeping.

II. Our time is filled with mistakes.
We feel torn apart into tiny flakes.
We want our years to be joyful
But they have become fearful.
Now we only want strength
To overcome until death.

Let me be the first to say there are less bad days than good. I hope today has been a good day for you all. ❤ Keep smiling, you are gorgeous. [=

#23 NaPoWriMo, IDK…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to write a sonnet. Enjoy!

IDK

The number of things I don’t know have grown.
I do not seem to know my name anymore.
The things I used to know are now unknown.
I have forgotten them in my very core.
My mind has rejected knowledge and thrown
Understanding with wisdom out the door.
Things once simple to recall now have flown.
I need more then head knowledge to sore.
Memories I wish to refine and hone.
Good memories I wish to file and store
One day to my family they’ll be shown.
I wish to forget the nightmares I abhor.
These are thoughts I have when I am alone.
Having my own time to think, I adore.

I hope you enjoyed this sonnet. I also hope you had a wonderful day. keep smiling, gorgeous!!! ❤

#22 NaPoWriMo, Butterfly Fly…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge was to write something in honor of earth day. I will not get into why I am not comfortable writing about earth day but I did not follow that challenge. I instead looked for inspiration, I found it in a post by Miss Madi (aka Owly) about adulting and growing up. She really got me thinking about adulthood. Enjoy.

Butterfly Fly

I’m sick of this cocoon
I need to leave it soon

It’s thick walls of protection
Are killing my production

My passion has been caged
My creativity has been aged

I need to grow anew
Learning my worldview

Everything is blue
This one thing I know is true
Everything is new

So I will spread my wings
I will do many new things

I will learn to fly
I will touch the sky

You and I shall become
The beat of our own drum

We will fly so high
We’ll have to say bye

But we butterflies
Will learn to be wise

Everything is blue
This one thing I know is true
Everything is new

That is what we shall do
Change the world through

Loving kindness
It won’t be tearless

But it will be worth it
Just to be able to sit

And know the pain
Shame, hurt made plain

Seeing the strength in their eyes
Holding them, hearing their cries

That is how we will help heal
Their souls by praying as we kneel

Before God asking for salvation
healing and grace for the nation

Everything is blue
This one thing I know is true
Everything is new

I hope you enjoyed this poem, it’s my vision of my future, my adult life. It’s my greatest desire. I really want to see healing and peace for all people. It’s my greatest prayer. I hope your day has been well. Keep smiling, your smile is gorgeous. ❤

#21 NaPoWriMo, Little Jonny Corkscrew…

Hello my lovely friends. Today’s challenge is to write a poem about a minor character from a fairy tale or myth. Enjoy!!!

Little Jonny Corkscrew

Jonny corkscrew is my name,
Tickling folks is my game!
I’ll burn ya like a flame.
You’ll never put me to shame!
Go a head and take your aim,
The victory I will claim!
A haunting ghost I became,
When Hooks men gave me fame.
One simple nickname.
And I was amazingly aflame.
Hurrah!!! Hurrah!!! We exclaim,
Only the pirates life acclaim!!!
We will never be tame.
We will never be lame!!!
In the heart of battle proclaim,
Put fear in their heart. Inflame
The enemy!!! The mighty surname
Hook!!! Let it be in frame,
In a proud look never disclaim.
For we, his men overcame,
The blasted Peter Pan we declaim!!!!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day. I had a ton of fun writing today’s poem about Mr. Smee’s sword. Keep smiling, beautiful!!! ❤
