The Girl In The Mirror…

Hello my lovely friends. Today I would like to pull back the curtain and let you look inside. I would like to share a poetic story I wrote about a girl who hid behind a mask. Enjoy!!!

The Girl In The Mirror

Sometimes all I want to do
Is to crawl up into someone else’s mind,
And hide.

To escape my own thoughts and lies,
Seeing what others think is true,
inside of you.

I just want to sit for a moment or two,
Thinking your thoughts instead of my own,
In my tone.

I want to know what you believe is true,
What you see in me,
What you think I can be.

Because when I see myself…
I see all the lies in my head,
the ones dreamed up in bed.

I see a girl with old eyes,
A girl with a world full of sighs,
A girl who in some ways is old,
But she isn’t stone cold.

Her heart she protects at all cost,
She hides herself in masks
Mirrors
Fog
And smoke.

She doesn’t want them to see the truth.
She’s only a little girl,
Scared to death of failing,
Fearful of displeasing,
She is broken and soft inside.
She only wears the bullet proof mask…
Because she has been hurt many times before.

She wears the mask of a woman,
Strong, courageous and true.
But she is weak,
Discouraged
and not always true.

She wants to remove her mask
But her scares are unsightly,
Her face is mingled,
Ugly.

She has been hurt so many times before,
why would she let another in.
Why would she put herself through that pain again.

She cries alone,
She eats alone,
She writes alone,
She serves alone,
She lives alone.

She is locked away,
A secret forever will stay,
Alone.

One day when it’s far too late she will realize,
Being hurt is worth it.
Loving,
Is choosing who will hurt you.

Masks and towers,
Escapes only bring happiness for a moment.

Allowing others to hurt you,
To make you feel.
Is a big deal!!!
She will learn it’s better not to wear a mask,
And love others
Forgive others,
Allow others inside.

She will one day learn to let others in,
into her secret place,
The one she has for those with grace.

She will learn when it’s far too late
That it will always be worth it.
To say yes to love
and yes too heartache.

She will learn too late that she is only human,
And humans aren’t always supposed to run.

She will learn once she can no longer live
That to be true
Is to live as one does in their head,
To daily be the person in the dreams upon your bed.
To awaken with inspiration and live.

Be in the moment and speak kindly.
To be present.
To only take things one at a time.

She will know these things once it’s too late
To save the date…
She will look into her old face with young eyes
And know she was always dreaming,
Lost inside her head
And in someone else’s head
But never in the here or now.
This is how
She the girl in the mirror
Became the girl 6 feel down.

She was under all her masks
Dreams,
Escapes
And thoughts.
Under she was forevermore.

I hope you are having a wonderful day!!! Keep smiling, your smile lights up the day. 😊

The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.”

Through Your Windows…

window
Hello, my lovely friend!!! It has been awhile since I last posted a poem. [= Today I am bringing you a long awaited poem… or maybe forgotten. Who really knows!!! But it is here all the same! I hope you enjoy!!! =D

Through Your Windows…

I see you through a window,
through the sun rays,
and tree leaves.

I see through your passion,
through your pain,
And tear drops.

I see you through the windows,
Of your very soul,
They’re gray.

The windows of your soul,
Have a sparkle,
They smile.

I see through your windows,
The innocence of your childhood,
And the sorrow.

I look into your windows,
Kissed by shooting stars,
and cloudy days.

I love seeing the world through your windows,
Through your windows you watch me,
I smile.

You see things through your windows,
I’ll never get to see.
Please share.

Remember I see things in your windows,
You can’t see,
Please listen.

Your windows need to be seen by the world,
The world has so much to learn from,
The shattering shards.

Don’t clean away all the dirt,
Or hide behind the curtains.
Show the scars.

I’ve heard your story many times,
By those who just pass on,
Look up.

They have no right to judge you.
They don’t value your windows,
But I do.

I know one day your windows
Will be viewed in galleries,
Across the world.

Your windows mean a lot to me,
They are a symbol of hope,
You are strong.

I’ve only ever seen you through my windows,
But I am inspired by your story,
Your life.

I wish I could look into your windows,
For the rest of my life but
I cannot.

Remember to look at the world through other’s eyes. Have a wonderful day and don’t forget to smile, awesome sauce!!!

Until we meet again,
Allie ❤
